Mechanism of Operation For Polymer Modified Bitumen: Base bitumen is heated to a specific temperature and transferred to the mixing unit. Then, modifier polymers (such as SBS) along with necessary additives (if required) are precisely dosed and mixed with the bitumen by high-speed mixers. The mixing process continues until uniform dispersion of the polymer in the bitumen is achieved, and the final product is stored in the tanks. For Bitumen Emulsion: Water and emulsifying agents (like surfactants) are mixed in a separate tank and pumped to the emulsifier unit. Base bitumen is also heated to the appropriate temperature and fed into the emulsifier unit along with the water and emulsifier mixture. In this unit, the bitumen is broken down into very fine particles (micron-sized) and uniformly dispersed in the water phase. The resulting emulsion is then transferred to the storage tanks.
